Mission & values
At Goodness Village, we believe housing is just the first step toward a restored life. By combining permanent supportive housing with relational care, we empower formerly unhoused Tri-Valley neighbors to heal, grow, and thrive in a place they can truly call home.
Goodness Village provides affordable, permanent supportive housing and relational wraparound care for formerly unhoused individuals in the Tri-Valley. We ensure every person has a safe place to sleep, a supportive network to lean on, and the opportunity to restore their dignity and achieve lasting independence.
Our Mission
The 4 r’s
To conceptualize how Goodness Village supports our neighbors in creating a Fresh Start, a neighbor’s transition out of chronic homelessness can be broken down into four stages.
-
Living unsheltered keeps the body and mind in constant survival mode. Upon moving in, our neighbors are given the time and safe space needed to decompress, adjust, and find peace in a place of their own.
-
Trust is the bridge to healing. This phase focuses on open communication, listening, and building mutual respect and connection between neighbors, staff, and the broader Village community.
-
Working alongside on-site Case Managers and community partners in healthcare, mental health, and addiction services, our neighbors address root causes of housing instability and access resources to break the cycle of homelessness for good.
-
We celebrate as our neighbors reclaim their dignity, get healthy again, and thrive. Whether that means reaching personal milestones, securing employment through our vocational program, reconnecting with family, or meaningfully reintegrating into the community.
Our core values
Empowerment
We provide the tools, resources, and opportunities our neighbors need to direct their own lives and achieve personal independence.
Community
We cultivate a warm, diverse space where every neighbor, staff member, and volunteer belongs and has a voice.
Compassion
We build genuine relationships, peer support, and local partnerships across the Tri-Valley so no one walks alone.
Inclusion
We lead with empathy, active listening, and radical kindness in every interaction and decision.
